Dr. Keith Hecht is an associate professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice. Before joining SIUE, Dr. Hecht served as an assistant professor of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Southern Nevada College of Pharmacy. Dr. Hecht received his B.S. (2000) and Doctorate of Pharmacy (2001) from St. Louis College of Pharmacy. Subsequently, he completed a pharmacy practice residency and an oncology specialty residency at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center, where he also obtained a certificate for scholarship of teaching and learning. He has been a board-certified oncology pharmacy specialist since 2004. In addition to his faculty appointment at SIUE, Dr. Hecht also provides clinical services in inpatient oncology at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center. Dr. Hecht is interested in various areas of oncology pharmacy practice including supportive care, patient education, and optimizing patient adherence with oncology medications. His research areas of interest include growth factor support, anti-infective use, and regimen optimization in oncology patients.
