Job Description/Responsibilities
The Department of Industrial Engineering (IE) at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) invites applications for a full-time instructor position, non-tenure track. As part of the SIUE School of Engineering, the Department offers an ABET-accredited B.S. degree program, and a graduate program with both M.S. and Ph.D. degrees.

The full-time instructor position will require the successful candidate to teach a total of four courses (12 credit hours) during the spring semester and an additional four courses (12 credit hours) during the fall semester.
Minimum Qualifications
- M.S. or equivalent degree in Industrial Engineering or related engineering disciplines, along with relevant industrial experience.
- All applicants must demonstrate their interest and experience in teaching a diverse range of subjects catering to both undergraduate and graduate students.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, colleagues, and industry partners.
- A commitment to inclusive and innovative teaching methods and a passion for student success.
- Strong commitment to professional development and ongoing improvement of teaching skills.
- Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Industrial Engineering or related engineering disciplines. ABD candidates may be considered.
- Teaching experience in higher education.
- Experience in curriculum development and course design, including online and hybrid course delivery methods.

Terms of Appointment
The salary of the full-time instructor will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate instruction and university and public service. Candidates for this position will be expected to be student-centered and demonstrate a commitment to promoting experiential learning. The position is expected to begin Spring 2024.
