Dr. John Cabage

Chair/Associate Professor

Dr. John Cabage is an associate professor with the Department of Construction, School of Engineering, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.  His research areas are construction materials and sustainability.  Dr. Cabage has drilled oil wells and built gas stations for Exxon Company, USA., served as a Vice President of an Environmental Services consulting firm, constructed homes in his own construction company, created his own roof truss manufacturing plant, and obtained a PhD in Structural Engineering from the University of Tennessee.  He is transferring from Eastern Illinois University where he served as the Construction Program Coordinator.  Currently he is the Chair of the Construction Management program at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.  Dr. Cabage has been a licensed Professional Engineer in Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas, New York, and Louisiana.
